How to Connect the FC-90 to an Android Device via Bluetooth

Purpose

When attempting to connect a Bluetooth Android device to an FC-90, the inability to connect the devices may arise, and this solution aims to resolve that problem.

Solution

As of June 2024, the FC-90 controller application has been updated (version 1.3.0r1d) to be compatible with devices running Android 14 and beyond.  On occasion, users might not be able to connect to the FC-90 after the update through bluetooth, and this guide should solve the problem.

 

The main issue lies within the privacy settings of the Android device, preventing the application from utilizing bluetooth.  Following the below steps should allow for the devices to pair to each other:

 

  1. Go to the settings of your device
  2. Go to Security and privacy settings
  3. Click on the Privacy settings
  4. Go to permission manager
  5. Click on nearby devices
  6. Allow the FC-90 app to connect to nearby devices

 

This method was tested using a tablet running Android 14, and there may be differences in different versions of Android.
